Enough Plastic Campaign 2O19

"No SUP Day" May 30th
Picture
Our campaign aims to raise public awareness on the single use plastic issue and motivate a behavioral change through bold visuals and celebrity influence. By collaborating with corporates and providing practical tips, we aim to encourage the community to reduce consumption of single use plastic.

Creating Visuals with 6O Celebrities

In order to create a far-reaching impact, we have invited 60 celebrities, including Sammi Cheng, Aaron Kwok, Miriam Yeung, Donnie Yen, Chi Lam Cheung etc to join us in creating 60 stunning visuals to dramatize the negative effects of single use plastics over use in our society.

Shot by renowned photographer Wing Shya, each celebrity was photographed with an item of single use plastic to symbolize our over dependence of it in our daily life.  We have created campaign videos and videos of celebrities sharing their plastic reduction tips.

There are over 3.2 million views and total engagement over 800k.

Support from landlords, tenants, restaurants and schools

Our campaign has gained wide support from different sectors in the communities. Landlords have supported us by displaying our campaign visuals, giving reduction tips to their tenants, coordinating rewards for plastic reduction efforts in their premises and offering space for exhibition.

Over 1,500 restaurants and shops have supported us by displaying our campaign visuals and implementing plastic reduction policies such as not passing out straws, encouraging customers to bring their own shopping bags or take away containers or offering discount to the customers bringing their own containers for takeaway order on the No SUP Day, or for the entire month

Over 750 schools have supported us by displaying the Big Waster poster on campus, encouraging students to use less single use plastic and participated in the “No SUP  Day” on May 30th.

Community Outreach

On 12 May, around 250 volunteers approach restaurants across 15 districts to promote our “Enough Plastic” Campaign by placing our tent cards and posters at their venues. Just that day, over 700 restaurants have supported

No SUP Day Press Conference

On 30 May, we held a Press Conference at Hysan Place to sum up the campaign and to kick off the Enough Plastic photo exhibition. We sent out a survey to assess the impact of our campaign in terms of raising awareness and the reduction of single use plastic. 100% of survey respondents reduced their company’s use of single-use plastics as a result of our campaign
